This week's topic is about those standalone books that we loved so much we wish they had a sequel...or were made into a whole series.
It's been just about 3 years since I've read this book, so I don't remember a lot, but I do remember liking it and wishing that there were more. From the ending I thought there was going to be a sequel. I check every now and again online for any news, but have never found any.
This is another one I enjoyed, but for this one I mostly want a sequel because I felt like I had more questions at the end than I did answers and that bothers me. I was hoping for another book so they could be answered but have had no luck finding anything on that.
Romance books about knights and highlanders are my weakness. I feel they all pretty much need sequels.
This was one of the first series I started on my Kindle when I first got it years ago. I had a couple of technical problems with the first two books, but not enough to stop reading the series all together. But then the series just stopped. The second one was released in August of 2010 and there has been no news of when the third, Blood of Ice, is going to be released. I really want to know what happens...
I would love and hate a sequel to this one. How it ended was great but I would like to find out what happened to everyone after the book ended. Or maybe even have a book written from one of the other kids POVs during what happened or after what happened and how they are coping and moving on. I think it would make for a great story.
Why yes, yes I do want the third book of a trilogy to have a sequel.
I WANT MORE BELLY AND CONRAD, OKAY?
Honestly, I vaguely remember how this ended. I really just remember wanting more.
So Sara Grant should get on that.
There always seems to be so much more that could be told at the end of a zombie or apocalyptic novel and this one was no exception.
Okay, okay. I know this one does have a sequel coming out (HOLLOW CITY). But did you know that by the time it does actually come out I will have been waiting nearly 3 years.
THAT'S NOT AN EASY THING TO DO.
Authors shouldn't be cruel and make readers wait that long....it makes it seem like I'm never going to find out what happens.
So there is my list, readers. Anything on this list you wish had a sequel?
Anything I left off?
Haha No worries about the anticipation for the "Miss Peregrine's" sequel, because you're definitely not the only one who's been waiting for more of that awesomeness. Have you heard that's it's supposed to be a movie soon? Directed by Tim Burton, no less.
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
Seriously? A movie?! I didn't know! That is so awesome! Thanks for telling me :)
DeleteI really want to read Forbidden - everyone seems to like it! :) Great list!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good. Difficult subject matter, but a heart wrenching story that is worth it.
DeleteIK Courtney Summers' thing is opening endings but they also leaves rooms for potential sequels, yes? Great list!
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be how it goes in Hollywood and open endings. Maybe we'll get a sequel with this book because of that!
DeleteI thought about Forbidden too- such a powerful book. Wonder how a sequel would go! And yes please to more Belly and Conrad. You got me curious about Sara Grant, and though there isn't a sequel out to Dark Parties, she does have a new dystopian book out now called Half Lives. Could be good? Nice list!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Half Lives in passing...but never looked into it. I'll have to check it out since I loved Dark Parties.
DeleteMore of Jenny Han's summer series would be so lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt would definitely make me a super happy girl!
DeleteJessica great list of books. I actually thought more people would have listed Miss Peregrine's in this week's topic. I'm yet to read Every Other Day but would love to read it very soon.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
You should definitely check it out! It's such a different read, but in a good way.
DeleteI feel the same way about Forbidden. I want more story, but I'm not exactly sure how.

I'm sure Tabitha could figure something out ;)
DeleteThanks for following!
My husband just read Miss Peregrine's lately and loved it... he actually said he wishes there was another book after he read it!
ReplyDeleteI have the Jenny Han books, but haven't read them yet! I've heard they are awesome so I can't wait to read them.
That's awesome that he liked it so much!
DeleteOh Jenny Han's books...they are so wonderful. Hope you enjoy them when you get to them! :)
