City Of Glass by Cassandra Clare

"To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her new found powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?"-GoodReads.

The third installment of The Mortal Instruments series is most definitely worth a read. For me, this is a series that gets better with every book.
Put together action, drama, romance, humor, more action, and some really great plot twists and you get City of Glass.

Clary and Jace are still trying to deal with everything that has happened to them in the very recent past with some all new problems added to the mix.
It may be just me, but I love reading books where people have really big, supernatural, possibly world ending problems. Makes me feel like my every day problems aren't so bad.
The characters that I loved from the first two are back and better than ever. And some new characters are introduced, as well.

Best part though, hands down, is that you finally get to 'see' the City of Glass.
The descriptions are pretty awesome. Cassandra Clare has a really great way of showing rather then telling...if that makes sense.

If you have not yet started this series, get on it. The forth one, City of Fallen Angels, just came out and the fifth, City of Lost Souls, will be out May of next year. So now would be the perfect time to start this series!
